Axel Christiernsson was looking for an IT partner who could take overall responsibility and be on hand to help with both large and small issues. Six years ago, AXEL was looking for an IT partner they could talk to about all aspects of their IT, unlike their previous supplier, whom they only contacted when something went wrong. They wanted a comprehensive partner who could help develop the company's IT and whom they could contact with both small and large issues.
“We chose Goodfellows – now Upheads – because we felt that they really listened to us. They didn’t throw around a bunch of technical terms or try to sell us extra stuff,” says Fredrik Jonasson, Group IT Manager at AXEL.
The solution
Proactivity & holistic thinking
Initially, we were tasked with managing AXEL's help desk and emergency response. We also served as interim IT manager for six months, until Fredrik Jonasson was appointed IT manager.
“When I started, they had our first line support, but the collaboration has grown with more project work, and now we are driving the company’s digitalization together,” says Fredrik.
As AXEL is a global company, it needs an efficient and structured way to communicate and collaborate with colleagues in different countries.
“When the pandemic hit, many companies panicked and were thrown into using digital tools they had never worked with before. But thanks to Goodfellows – now Upheads – and their proactivity, we had already begun that journey, and for our users, working remotely was a natural step. It has helped us a lot, and since then we have created many project teams and collaborations across borders,” says Fredrik.
In addition to the software components, we also supply hardware to AXEL as part of their desire to have a single partner to turn to for all their IT needs.
AXEL isn't that big, but we have four different corporate cultures: Swedish, French, Dutch, and American. When we travel around to different countries together, they make a great, professional impression. They always act like AXEL's own staff, and I feel like we're traveling with our own IT department, not some IT supplier.
