Heads up: WeSafe Upheads is now available
Already last fall we could tell you about how WeSafe merges the bags with Norwegian Upheads. Now we are taking the next step on the journey towards becoming an integrated company to become an even stronger, smarter even stronger, smarter and more robust ITpartner to small and medium-sized companies.
Formally, Upheads, backed by private equity firm Norvestor, has bought WeSafe. In practice, this means that the Swedish and Norwegian IT suppliers are joining forces in order to continue to develop their offering and help their business customers even better.
"The merger with Upheads gives our customers a more secure partner while opening up new opportunities. As a customer, you will recognize yourself in the personal treatment and competence even after the name change."
- Peter Fritzon, CEO and co-founder of WeSafe
The merger means that WeSafe's operations and employees will continue as before but under the name Upheads. Peter Fritzon is responsible for the Swedish operations and co-founders Martin Liljenberg and Per Liljenberg remain in the management team.
- When we join forces with Upheads we will be big enough to be an even more secure partner for growing SMEs. We will also be able to complement WeSafe's expertise in cloud with Uphead's s broad experience in areas such as network solutions and data center services. In an industry where the IT landscape is changing rapidly we see a significant value in being able to acquire, deepen and manage the knowledge and skills that customers expect from an IT partner, especially in areas such as cloud services, AI and IT security," explains Peter.
Upheads was founded in 2013 and has about 180 employees in six offices in Norway with the head office in Sandnes. It is one of the fastest growing IT companies in Norway, and WeSafe is the first acquisition outside the country.
Similar cultures and focus on IT with meaning
WeSafe and Upheads chose each other partly because they have a similar corporate culture. Like WeSafe, Norwegian Upheads has a clear focus on delivering innovative IT services within cloud, security and digitalization to small and medium-sized companies.
- We always start with our customers' challenges and goals, and then suggest how technology can support them. We make it a point to be available when needed and to talk so that customers understand what we mean even when it comes to IT. Our Norwegian colleagues call it "IT with meaning", and offering services and solutions that deliver value and create meaning for customers is something we are happy to subscribe to here in Sweden," says Peter.
The same personal approach with even more expertise
WeSafe will keep all customer-facing functions such as sales, delivery and customer service in Sweden.
"We will continue as usual with the same contact persons and the flexible and close cooperation with our customers to develop together."
- Peter Fritzon, CEO and co-founder of WeSafe
In addition to a wider range of services and solutions, the merger means that customers will have access to more and stronger competencies and more experience. With the merger, the new Upheads will have a strong organization with a range that will grow in areas such as data centers and network services. With more colleagues in the company, it will also be easier to help customers develop their solutions.
- We have already set up joint teams across borders to learn from each other and keep up with developments such as AI, and to further contribute to our customers' businesses and goals," Peter concludes.
