Microsoft updates pricing in 2024

Microsoft has announced an important update to its pricing for cloud services, effective February 1, 2024. This means that Microsoft is aligning its prices to global levels, based on the US dollar (USD). This aims to offer more transparent and consistent pricing across different geographical regions and currencies.

What does this mean for Microsoft Cloud customers?

  1. Global price: The pricing of Microsoft's cloud services will reflect the current exchange rate to the USD. This contributes to more predictable and consistent pricing globally.
  2. Semi-annual price evaluation: Microsoft will regularly evaluate its prices in local currency twice a year. This is to ensure that they reflect currency fluctuations relative to the USD, providing customers with greater transparency and predictability.
  3. Continued competitive pricing: Despite these adjustments, Microsoft Cloud remains competitively priced. Microsoft's commitment to the success of its customers and partners remains unchanged.
  4. Investing for success: Microsoft will continue to invest in innovations to help customers innovate, consolidate and reduce operational costs, and optimize business efficiency and security strategies.

This change represents a move towards the industry standard and reflects Microsoft's commitment to providing value and support to its customers globally.
